My skincare in 2018 in some numbers and letters

Although 2018 came to an end almost a month ago, I think there are still few of us who are trying to make a resume of the past year (financial, emotional, experiential, etc).

I will try to make a resume of my cosmetic experience throughout this past year.

I buy my skincare, body care and makeup mostly online. I keep track of everything in the excel spreadsheets, so I can give you some numbers just for fun.

In 2018, I made 143 orders online and this means that the postman often rang at my door and that the delivery vans often stopped  in front of my house.  In average, I received at least 1 package in 3 days. There were some days when 3, 4, 5 packages waited for me to come from work. I’m still the target of my household members’ jokes when it comes to the number of packages I receive. My father finds hilarious the fact that I order my skincare from South Korea / Japan. Maybe I should buy him something? I’m still waiting for some packages to arrive. Lately I decided that I should try to be on a shopping diet till my birthday which is in April and that’s why I went a little bit crazy with some orders between Christmas and New year, just to enjoy a bit more in shopping.

So during past year I opened 154 different beauty products (skincare, makeup, body and hair care) and I emptied 163 products. My beauty stash is not that big as it used to be before, although I have a lot opened products. To be exact, for the moment, I have 96 different beauty products I’m currently using (some of them more frequently, and some of them rarely, but still in use).

So, let me take you through my 2018 also with few letters.

A as Acwell – or more precisely as Acwell licorice. I adore this toner which I used as first step of my routine. It replaced the first treatment essence, making my skin a perfect canvas for absorption of the next steps. However, after I emptied it, I had lot of problems to find it online and finally when I found it, the seller which was offering it, increased its price for 5-6 USD, which made me really angry (I say angry to stay polite).

C as C vitamin serums – 2 serums containing C vitamin blew my mind completely this year: Melano CC serum and Klairs Freshly juiced vitamin drop. Both of them really made a difference in brightening my skin tone and helping fade out some dark spots. My skin has always been in love with vitamin C serums and these two made even stronger this love.

H as Hanyul Pure Artemisia cleansing oil – perfect cleansing oil and perfect 1st cleanser. It foams nicely and removes perfectly the make up and cleans the face without leaving any oily residue. I love the scent. This oil made me buy the sheet masks from the same line (Pure Artemisia) and I love them also.

I as Isntree aloe soothing toner – the toners I’m using are the ones that I repurchase constantly (Pyunkang Yul mist toner, Muji Mujirushi High Moisture, Hadalabo Gokuyjun hyaluronic acid lotion), but still I managed to discover this aloe toner from Isntree and I love it. I usually use it in my routine after Pyunkang yul mist toner and I usually layer it (2-3 applications). It is absorbed nicely without sticky residue (which can happen with aloe products), it refreshes, soothes and moisturizes the skin in a such a great way, that I always enjoy in this feeling and wait at least for 15-20 minutes before putting anything else on top of it (of course, when I have time for this ritual).

M as Manyo Factory Miracle overnight mask – this is my HG sleeping pack and the biggest discovery of 2018. Before this, I only tried 2 sleeping packs. One of them was Enature’s Birch juice hydro sleeping mask which is really great and I talked about it in my summer favourites post. And then I fell in love desperately with this sleeping pack. It has a jelly consistency, sinks in fast and perfectly in the skin even if I exaggerate with the quantity and in the morning, my skin is smooth, radiant with that beautiful glass skin effect. I already have a backup tube in my stash.

P as peptides – one of my biggest discoveries of 2018 in terms of ingredients. I tried some wonderful peptide serums which made my skin smoother and firmer. I started with amazing Klairs Midnight blue youth activating drops (I wrote about it in my Empties 2 post), continued with The Ordinary Buffet, then tried Scinic Peptide Ampoule and Medi-Peel Bor-tox and finally Tonymoly Bio ex cell peptide ampoule. I will never be without a peptide serum ever!!

S as sheet masks – as a huge fan,  I cannot have  an overview without mentioning the sheet masks.  The ones that I discovered during 2018 and that I really liked are: My Beauty Diary Oligopeptide, Klairs Midnight blue calming mask, Hanyul Pure artemisia fresh calming mask.

So, these numbers and letters marked my cosmetic 2018. I really enjoyed and of course I will keep on discovering this wonderful beauty world (even with my no-buy till further notice decision for the beginning of the year, to which I will come back in one of my futur posts). I still have to share with you my empties for November and December 2018 and then I will say a forever farewell to my cosmetic 2018.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

My first skincare routine in 2019

Happy New year everyone!! Plenty of love and happiness!

This will be a short New year’s post, since I would just like to share with you my first morning routine in 2019.

I just wanted to look fresh and hydrate the skin. That’s why I have 3 toners for my own version of 7-skin method (Olivarrier Dual moist, Pyunkang yul mist toner and Isntree aloe).  And of course, since this is new year, I wanted to introduce something new and the choice I made was I’m from Magnolia wake essence. Of course, it is way too early to share my thoughts on this.

All I can say that the consistency is more of a serum than an essence, it is of nice pinkish magnolia colour, spreads nicely and hydrates well.

So this was my first 2019 routine.

I wish you all the best in New year without any skin concern and a bunch of nice products that do miracles for your skin.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

My favourite sheet masks

Hello everybody!

I hope you’re all well.

In my last post, I wrote a little bit about my experience with sheet masks, how I keep track of what I have and what I tried so far.

Today I would like to share with you my top 5 sheet masks. I really tried a lot of sheet masks, for different purposes, made of variuos materials and made for various budgets. As you will see, I have on my list both cheap ones and more expensive ones. The order is random, because I honestly cannot choose which one of those 5 I like the best!! I love them all and buy them all the time.

Illi Total aging Ginseng firming hydrogel mask

Oh how I like this one! I still remember the first time I opened this sheet mask! The smell was absolutely divine. Till today I do not know if this scent is how ginseng is supposed to smell, but it’s divine as I said. It’s hydrogel two-piece mask which is rather easy to handle. The openings for eyes and mouth fit me perfectly. However, this mask has some strange cut on chin, or basicaly the chin stays uncovered no matter how you place it on. Otherwise it fits perfectly. Since this is a hydrogel sheet mask, there is no leaking of liquid, but at the same time you can keep the mask for a longer time without fearing that it will dry the skin (which can sometimes happen with cotton sheet masks if you keep them too long). The skin feels great upon removing this sheet mask. It’s really hydrating, but yet it leaves the skin firm and tight, but in a good way. I spent already a pack of 5 pcs and few days ago I received new ones. I will keep on buying it as long as it will be on the market.

Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet.

Every time I think about this mask, it makes me smile. First, I just love the smell of this mask!! When you put it on your face, it smells like heaven. And this was huge surprise for me, since I do not like honey or anything related to honey. But when it comes to cosmetics, my skin adores both honey and propolis. The fit of this mask is good. It is well soaked, but it doesn’t leak. I always use the remaining liquid to treat my body also and not only my face. The material is thin, comfortable. The skin is amazing after you remove the mask: well hydrated, plump, soft, balanced and with evened color and texture. I already used a pack of 10 pcs. New ones came in few days ago.

My Scheming Mandelic acid Brightening

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet.

This is very cheap, yet extremely effective sheet mask which delivers exactly what its name says: brightening.  When it comes to the products which have the word brightening in the name, I’m always wondering if they do anything. This notion brightening can be pretty confusing. But in case of the sheet mask, it’s pretty clear what it means and what it does. Upon removing the mask, the before and after is really different and visible. The skin is so much brighter and skin tone is even from forehead to chin.  It makes the skin so soft and perfectly smooth. And what’s even better, the result is also visible the morning after!! The material is very soft, almost completely transparent, feels great on the skin. Of course, I will repurchase!

Hanyul Pure Artemisia fresh calming

Hanyul is the brand that I am discovering recently. I have the cleansing oil from this same line and it is perfect. I can tell the same for this sheet mask. It is really well soaked and still it is not leaking. There was not a lot of essence remaining in the package. The mask itself is rather big, especially on the chin (it covers whole chin, while some others bearly cover it). This sheet mask feels great on the skin, calms it, I would say that it even has some kind of cooling effect. It evens the complexion in a very nice way.

Lovemore Mung beans and licorice

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet

When I first put this sheet masks, I was kind of disappointed with its shape. It was huge, the biggest sheet mask I’ve ever used. The openings were not well cut, the ones for eyes were too close and the one for the mouth was too small. However, the issues with the shape were forgotten fast since the effect is just amazing. It is very hydrating, moisturizing, it perfectly softens the skin. The skin is looking kind of brighter, I noticed both whitening and brightening effect. And what’s even more amazing, the effect was visible the morning after too!! Excellent and very cheap mask. What do you think if I have it in my stash? 😁

And here are also some honorable mentions:

Aprilskin honey and red ginseng

Erborian ginseng shot

Polatam Hydro radiance

Cremorlab Herb tea pure calming

My Beauty Diary Kenting Algae Elastin moisturizing

Goodal waterest moisture HA

Do you like sheet masks? What are your favourites?

Till next post, stay healthy and beautiful!

My new arrivals: what did I buy lately?

Hello everybody!

When I started to write my little blog, I was thinking that I would post 2 times per week. But, since I work a lot, I hardly find some time to finish what I started to write. That said, I go back to the real subject of this post.

There is nothing better than arriving home and seeing that few packages arrived and wait for you to open them! This happens to me quite often, since I order a lot online, but  I’m sure that the happiness I feel when opening the packages, will never diminish.

Besides this, I find myself often being target of my older household members’  jokes, because of number of packages I receive and the fact that I order my cosmetics mostly from Asia. They find this last part hilarious 😁

So, what was the content of the boxes I received lately?

As usual, I do not have a lot of make up in my new arrivals; most of it are different skincare products.

Klairs Blue youth activating drop – the instructions said that this is used as a first step after the cleansing. I’ll try this when I finish my Tosowoong First essence Timeshift.

Petitfee Azulene soothing pads – Can’t wait to try those pads. I couldn’t find lots of reviews for this, but last few days the bloggers started to talked about them and it’s only positive for now (I see now that I forgot to take the picture).

Holika Holika aloe soothing gel

Peripera Peri’s Ink the velvet Oops fuchsia – I already have one Peripera Ink from Airy velvet line (Sold out red) and I love it!! Hope that this one will also be great.

Klairs Freshly juiced Vitamin E mask – I always wanted to try this mask, but I didn’t want to buy a full size product. I was so happy when I found these samples.

Iunik Beta glucan serum – apparently betaglucan is a good replacement for hyaluronic acid (that what I read somewhere), but it won’t dry the skin as hyaluronic acid sometimes does.

Missha bb cream trial kit – I bought 2 kits for my sister to try the shade #29. I will keep my perfect shade #27.

Urban Decay Naked 3 eye shadow palette – I always wanted to buy one of UD palettes; I chose this one after reading somewhere that this is a great choice for green-eyed girls and I’m one of them.

Aveda Be curly curl activator – I’m always looking for something which would bring back life to my curls (they are lost after an extensive period of hair-loss).

I didn’t use most of those products before, with the exception of Missha bb cream, so I’m really curious about them, especially about Klairs youth activating drop and Aveda curl activator.

As usual, I got a lot of samples with my orders from Korea.

Did you try any of the products I bought?

Till my next post, stay beautiful and healthy.

Only 10 items on my Ebay WL!! How is it possible?

Hello everybody! I hope you’re doing fine.

Today I was thinking about sharing my Ebay wish list which became rather short lately. I’m estonished how it is possible!! I remember the beginnings of my Kbeauty trip when I had the pages and pages of products on my WL. I was reading a lot of reviews, following lot of bloggers and youtube channels, I was exploring hundreds of products and as a result of all this, I wanted and needed everything. This was back in 2015 and 2016. But how time was passing, the picture became a bit clearer, as well as my cosmetic wishes. Since then, I tried lot of products, I made lot of orders, mostly on Ebay and I spent a lot of money on skincare products. I could tell you exactly how much money I am talking about since, about the same time as my Kbeauty trip began, I started to use xls spreadsheets for my orders, stocks and dates when I opened the products. However,  I will not write about the money I spent, but I will write about where I would like to spend some more money.

So, what do I have on my WL? Which are these 10 products?

And before I start, let me just reassure you that the links I posted are not the referral links  and I do not gain anything if you buy by clicking on those. How could I? 😂😂😂 (I’m only a “blogger” with 4 posts and 4 follwers).

So let’s go to my WL finally!

–  Cosmetic pots (plastic) – I’m always decanting my products, especially when I travel, so I’m always in need of small jars and bottles.

Toners

As I said in my post about toners, I always have at least 2 on my WL and for the moment, these 2 are my possible next purchases:

1) Cosmetex Roland Hyaluronic acid Astaxanthin CoQ10 anti-aging –  I like the combination of the ingredients and the fact that it is rather affordable (cca 10 USD)

2) Olivarrier Dual Moist toning lotion – I always listen what Rene a.k.a. Gothamista recommends and she mentionned Olivarrier, as one of brands she is exploring lately.

Essences and emulsions

Skinfood Royal Honey Propolis Enrich Essence – I like propolis and I like essences, so I need to try this one

Sooreyahan Ginseng Secret Skin Care True Rejuvenating Emulsion – this is on my WL for a while now that I honestly do not remember why I put it there.

Creams and bb creams

Missha Near Skin Total Ceramide cream – I always have something with ceramides on my WL for my sisters who suffer from a mild rosacea

Lioele Super gold snail bb cream – although Missha Perfect cover bb cream in shade #27 is my perfect choice, I’m always looking for something that could replace it since this shade is sometimes hard to find, unlike lighter shades. Up till now, I didn’t find anything even close to my perfect Missha.

Masks

A by Bom Super Power Baby Ultra Cool Leaf mask – I’m a huge fan of sheet masks and accordingly, I have a huge stash of these. One of my next post will be about sheet masks for sure. This particular sheet mask drew my attention  because of the interestong shape (you put the leaves on the face).

Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay Deep Pore Cleansing mask – I’m always looking for a good clay mask and this one has the excellent reviews.

And last item on my WL are the Neogen Dermalogy Real Cica pads – this is rather new product, but I read some fine reviews. I like the products containing cica or tiger grass or centella asiatica, so this is very interesting product for me.

If you tried some of products from my WL, please do share with me your opinion.

Till next time, stay beautiful and healthy!
