Products I opened in November and December 2020

Since this is my first post in 2021, I would like to wish you all Happy New Year! I wish you lots of health and happiness and hope that your home and your office will again be two separated locations very soon 🙂

My previous post about the products I opened was in fact a 3-months overview, so normally there were a bunch of products I wrote about. I thought of writing about newly opened products in November, but when I saw I only had 4 products, I decided to go again with 2-months overview for November and December.

So these are the products I recently introduced to my skincare routine.

Opened during November 2020

Klavuu White pearlsation ideal backstage cream spf30 – This is the most complicated product name I have ever come across. And it is kind of funny also. I do not feel like an actress while using it, that’s for sure. This is thick, tinted sunscreen. It has a pinkish hue that looks more like the lightest Asian bb creams, than like a sunscreen. It is spread nicely, but it leaves a white cast that doesn’t disappear very quickly. It does have a tone-up effect that evens a skin, but also gives it a nice dewy look. It feels comfortable on the skin. However, because of the white cast, I do not think that I will buy a full size product. I will empty quickly this small 15ml tube.

Nacific Phyto niacin whitening essence – After a long line of western niacinamide I used this year, I have finally got my hands on this Korean niacinamide serum from brand Nacific. It has watery texture and that’s the texture I prefer for my routines since I put niacinamide serums as a first step in my night routine. It is absorbed perfectly and quickly into the skin. It is not sticky or tacky, it doesn’t sting or cause irritation or redness. It has a brightening effect and skin looks very healthy. I like it so far.

Laneige Cream skin refiner – I have already written about this toner / lotion in my empties post and my haul posts. It is a nice milky lotion that sinks nicely in the skin. It is a multitasker that can easily replace few products in your routine. It hydrates and nourishes at the same time, calms the redness and brings a relief to the irritated skin. As soon as heating season started this year, I felt its impact on my skin which was a bit irritated, with flares of redness and felt very tight and dry. All these skin troubles disappeared immediately after I introduced this lotion into my routine. It is a real skin saviour. I have another 30ml bottle in my stash.

Versed The fix emergency eye mask – I have eyed this eye mask for very long time before I managed to get it on Cultbeauty. It was sold out all the time. When I finally got it, I had to try it immediately. A little goes a long way and this tube will last for ages. It has a cooling effect and calms the eye area. Also it blurs and evens it and makes the perfect base for makeup. You can wipe it off or leave it till it’s fully absorbed. I always leave it and do not rinse or wipe it off.

Opened during December 2020

Versed Doctor’s visit instant resurfacing mask – And again, here is the product with funny name (at least, it is funny to me). This is the last Versed product I have tried so far, and I must say that overall I’m really satisfied with this brand and their products. This particular mask is, as its name says, a resurfacing mask which treats your skin with help of cocktail of active ingredients like AHA, BHA and enzyme exfoliation. Since this mask is loaded with active ingredients, I was a bit afraid that my skin might react. I put a really thin layer of mask and removed it exactly after 3 minutes (the instructions say that you should keep for 3-5 minutes). I didn’t have any reaction what so ever: no itching, tingling, burning, no redness, sensitivity zilch! And what I got after 3 minutes is extremely soft, smooth and glowing skin! I love it!!

Bobbi Brown Extra repair eye cream – I have already used this eye cream and I loved it since it is very effective in nourishing eye area while making my small lines disappear. However it has a hefty price tag and I do not think I will buy it after I empty this jar. It usually lasts for almost a year and it doesn’t go bad even though it should be used within 6 months from the date you open it.

Dear Klairs Soft airy uv essence spf50 – I conveniently finished my Purito unscented spf on the same day the drama about its spf outbroke so I had to open a new sunscreen. I have already used this sunscreen before. However, it seems that this Klairs’ sunscreen is formulated in the same lab as Purito’s one, so maybe one of my favourite sunscreens and its spf will be also put to the test.

Peter Thomas Roth Rose stem cell bio repair mask – This is another mask from the 5-pieces set of PTR masks I bought long time ago. It is nice jelly mask that moisturizes nicely the skin. I have only used once so far, so I cannot comment on any other claim, but I must say that PTR mask simply doesn’t not do any wonders for my skin.

Garden of Wisdom C vitamin serum – I must admit I really do not have luck with Garden of Wisdom products. This is second product I tried from their range and the second one I do not like. This is vitamin C serum with oily texture. I adored the previous one that was also oily, Medik8 C-tetra, but those two cannot be compared. While Medik8’s serum has a texture of dry oil that is absorbed fast, this Garden of Wisdom’s serum is really oily and it takes forever to absorb in the skin and still it is never fully absorbed. It leaves a greasy film on the skin and is very complicated to incorporate it in skincare routine. I had to cut my morning routine to 2 products: this serum and spf. And just like with their niacinamide serum, I hate the packaging, or more precisely its pump which makes dosing of this serum very difficult. The only positive thing about its packaging is the fact that the bottle is made of opaque dark plastics which is very good for preventing the serum of going bad due to exposure to the sun.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened lately

And again, if you are following my posts, you might have noticed that I didn’t post anything about the products I opened and introduced to my routine lately. So, here is an overview of what I have opened in August, September and October. Some of those products were already mentioned in my 2-months overview post for August and September about my skincare stash decrease project for 2020.

Pixi & Caroline Hirons double cleanse – This is love at first use, especially for the balm part of the cleanser. It is really effective, removes makeup without lot of fuss, but the way it is washed off is simply amazing. It goes so easily without leaving any trace. I’m amazed!

Tonymoly Green tea chok chok no wash cleansing water – I do not use micellar waters or similar products, so basically I didn’t buy this product. I got it in a Tonymoly kit from Jolse. I use it very rarely, in my morning routine if I feel that my skin need some cleansing. It is nice product, not drying. Even though it is no wash cleansing water, I still wash it off anyway.

DHC Deep cleansing oil – I got this oil as an gift, although I’m pretty sure I would buy it myself also. It is on a thicker side for a cleansing oils, but it doesn’t feel thick or heavy on my skin. It turns into nice emulsion when I add the water, it breaks down the spf, makeup and is easily washed off. It does blur my sight for a few seconds when I take off my eye makeup, but this goes away rather quickly.

Oskia Renaissance cleansing gel – I couldn’t watch this gel sitting in my stash anymore so I opened it even though I have few cleansers opened at the moment. I use it as my second cleanse or as the only cleanse in my morning routine. It is gentle, but very effective in removing the traces of first cleanser, it is very nice finish of a cleansing routine. It doesn’t foam much which I like and it has that distinctive Oskia smell which I also found in their fabulous Renaissance mask.

Pyunkang Yul Mist Toner – This was my favourite watery toner until I discovered Keep Cool & Soothe bamboo toner. I do not know how many bottles I have opened and emptied so far. It is very runny so you can spill it if you’re not careful. It is very hydrating and soothing.

Secret Key Aloe toner – I must admit that I really like this toner so far. It is watery, sinks in nicely, refreshes and hydrates the skin and works well in my morning routines before Nuface.

Rovectin Skin essentials activating treatment lotion 15ml – I bought two small bottles of this lotion / toner since I wanted to try out something from brand Rovectin. I have only used it maybe 2 or 3 times, I do not like the sticky feeling it leaves on my skin. It feels like a hyaluronic acid lotion, it is hydrating.

I’m From Mugwort essence – I fell in love with this essence immediately after one use and this doesn’t happen so often. This is such calming and soothing essence which feels like a real skin treat and skin medicine at the same time. I enjoy its herbal scent that also contributes to this overall feeling of goodness in a product. I’m in love!!

Medik8 Tetra-C – I have tried lots of vitamin C serums, but I think this is the first one with oily texture. And I like it so far. It is really gentle to the skin, doesn’t sting, burn, itch. Although it is oily, it is absorbed fast and gives really nice and healthy glow.

Alpha-H Vitamin B with copper-peptides – This niacinamide serum was my prime suspect for the breakouts I had on my cheeks in August, so I put it aside for some time. I never break out, I didn’t even have skin trouble during puberty. However, I realised that it was just an unfortunate coincidence with my PMS which makes me break out maybe once in 6 or 7 months.

The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid + B5 – Although my favourite hyaluronic acid product is Hada Labo’s premium lotion, I try from time to time something else. I got this serum in last year’s Asos advent calendar, so it sat quite a while in my stash. I have used it only few times. I do not like how it feels between my fingers and immediately after application, since I have a feeling that it foams, which is really strange for a serum. Otherwise, it is thicker hyaluronic acid serum that sinks in rather quickly. It leaves a bit of stickiness once you apply next layer.

Versed Just breathe clarifying serum – I had this niacinamide serum for quite a while on my wish list, but it was often out of stock. So when it became available on Cultbeauty, I bought it immediately and I didn’t regret it. It is watery, just how I like my niacinamide serums. I alternate it with Alpha-H niacinamide and I like it better than Alpha-H so far.

Zelens Power A oil 10ml – I have been using A313, Vitamin A pommade on and off, as my only retinoid. I bought this oil few moths ago with a promotional code since it is not very affordable product, but I didn’t want to use it during summer. It doesn’t state the percentage of retinol. I used it only twice till today. It feels nice on the skin, it is absorbed rather quickly and I didn’t feel any burning, stinging or tinkling sensation after the application.

Hylamide SubQ skin – This is such a nice coctail serum with 5 types of hyaluronic acids, peptides. This is really a step up from TO Buffet serum when it comes to texture, the way it applies, feels on the skin. I love it so far.

Thank You Farmer True water deep serum – this is nice hydrating serum with a lightweight texture which sinks in the skin fast. It refreshes the skin, provides nice hydration and make it plump. I like it so far.

Olival Microexfoliant Vitamin H + salicylic acid – This is local Croatian product which I really like. It is basically micro-exfoliant like a Dermatologica one, but it costs a fraction of Dermatologica’s powder and is still very effective and gentle to my skin at the same time. I love it so far.

Paula’s Choice Resist Skin Restoring moisturiser SPF50 trial – I really like the texture of this sunscreen and the way it applies and feels on the skin. However, what I do not like is the fact that it pills off my face no matter which kind of routine I put under it. I have tried with lighter and heavier routines, with different products, but it simply pills of my face every time I touch it.

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta peel Extra strength – Don’t let the part of Extra strength fool you, those pads are not harsh in any way (at least to my skin). These are excellent 2-step peel pads that leave my skin so soft, smooth and work great without causing any redness, irritation. You may feel just a slight tingling at the very beginning.

I’m from Mugwort mask – This is definitely my favourite I’m from mask I have tried so far. I also tried Honey and Rice. This is real treat for the skin: it is cooling, hydrating, soothing. It has an interesting herbal scent that is not overwhelming. First time I tried it, I had some issues with removal, but I found perfect way to wash it off. I can already say that I will keep on buying this mask.

Manyo Factory Vitamin tree brightening pack – I bought this to verify if it is even close to my favourite Manyo sleeping mask (Overnight miracle mask) which was unfortunately discontinued. And my first impression says it is the same product based on feeling, performance, texture. I cannot understand why they replaced the tube by jar.

Supergoop Unseen sunscreen spf30 – It is clear yellow gel that glides nicely, leaves satin finish, works well under makeup. And it is already in my empties 🙂

Filorga Meso-mask – This is one of the most famous products of Filorga’s range. However, I do not like it so far. The skin is really soft and smooth after I remove it with cotton pad. It’s the aftermath that is problematic. I have used it 2 or 3 times till now and each time my skin started to feel irritated after few hours despite the hydrating skincare routine I put after masking.

I will probably open less products during November. I need to empty something too.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened in July 2020

August is coming slowly to its end and I haven’t still posted my newly opened products for the month of July. So it’s about time I do it!

Although my stash was hiding some nice products and I opened several really interesting skincare items during past months, I must admit that among the products I opened in July, I found 3 magnificient additions to my routine, which can easily become my yearly favourites. Please continue reading to find out which are those 3 products. Click here if you’re interested in what I opened in April, May and June.

Here are the products I opened during July:

Drunk Elephant F-balm mask – this is first newly opened product that blew my mind completely, but also first Drunk Elephant product I quite liked. Basically this is an overnight mask or if you want a moisturiser. When I pumped it out of packaging for the first time, I got a little bit worried as its texture seemed to be thick and greasy. But the moment it touched the skin, it turned into something thin, easy to spread, fast absorbing. After the application, I thought it wouldn’t do so much for my skin, but in the morning, I really felt a difference in how my skin felt (nourished, firm, happy, shiny, but not greasy). I love it!!

Allies of the skin Molecular amino acid cleanser – this is easily one of the best second cleansers I have ever tried (and trust me, I tried a bunch!!). Obviously this is second newly opened item I adored during July. It is such a glorious cleanser. It has a creamy texture, it is spread easily and the second it touches the skin you feel it is a real treat. It is efficiant, gentle. I loved it so much that I started to use it in the morning and I do not use cleansers in the morning. This tells you how much I love it!! I wish it was a little bit cheaper.

Indeed Labs Hydraluron – Last few years, the only hyaluronic acid product in my routine was Hada Labo premium lotion which I really love. During last year, I collected few other hyaluronic acid products (essences, serums) which now replace my beloved Hada Labo. This Hydraluron serum was bought because I heard Caroline Hirons raving about it. It has a jelly texture which is thicker than my Hada Labo, so I use it after my toners. I was using Hada Labo between 2 toners. Although it is on thicker side, it glides easily and is absorbed nicely and it is not sticky or tacky. After first few applications, I felt like my skin was tight and I was affraid that it would end up drying my face. To prevent this, I introduced an additional small step which is a spritz of Caudalie grape water which locks the moisture in the skin and makes it plump. I like it so far now.

Purito Centella Green level unscented spf50 – After I heard and read so many raving reviews of this sunscreen, I simply had to try it. It is light, easily spread, it is not greasy, it sinks in nicely, the finish is a bit dewy but not too shiny. It works well under my bb cream. However, I would only recommend it for short stay at sun. This is by no means heavy duty sunscreen. I didn’t have any issues with it since I didn’t use it on beach, but my sister tried it on the beach and even though she reapplied it few times, she got her forehead burnt.

Mamonde Petal spa oil to foam – Rose – Although I really enjoy in double cleansing and see the benefits it brings to my skin, I have to admit that I’m not always in mood for it or I’m a bit lazy and feel tired, but still do not want to skip cleansing. And for nights like these, I’m always looking for a nice cleanser that can replace both steps while still being effective. This Mamonde oil to foam cleanser is definitely excellent choice and as its name says it turns from oil to foam during cleansing. It is gentle, effective, removes dirt, spf, makeup. Although I always have a separate product for eye makeup removal, I test every cleanser on my eyes at least once. This one burnt my eyes and I wouldn’t recommend it for that. The only thing I do not like about this cleanser is that it is really overfragranced. It obviously smells like roses, but it is really overwhelming and this can be issue since lot of people do not like rose scent. The scent of this cleanser is nice, but simply it is too much.

Fantastic Three

Paula’s Choice Azelaic acid booster – Since I sometimes experience some mild redness and skin sensitivity, I bought this azelaic acid booster since azelaic acid is, among other things, good for calming the skin redness. I use this booster in my night routine, but as a last step and in place of a moisturizer, since its texture is really a texture of a moisturizer. I do not see myself applying anything else on top of this. It glides nicely, is well absorbed, but still it leaves a film on the skin, as a protective layer. It feels confortable on the skin, nourishes it and calms nicely. I like it so far!

La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 – you could have already seen this moisturizer in my Empties post. It is my go-to product for the times of crises when my skin is sensitised by retinoids, red, etc.

Anessa Perfect uv sunscreen skincare milk spf50 – as you can see from the picture above, the third product that blew my mind during July is this fantastic Japanese sunscreen. I’m on hunt now for a full size product since this is small 20ml bottle. This sunscreen has a beautiful, milky texture that glides perfectly on the skin. It is also completely and perfectly absorbed and it has a beautiful satin finish; the skin feels like velvet!! It has a bit of white cast, but it disappers in a minute. It is not greasy, and it is not drying during the day. I wore it as a last step, but also under my bb cream and it works great with it. I have also tested it during a beach day and it turned out great (unlike Purito one). I love the texture, the effect, the protection it provides. This is probably the best sunscreen I have ever tried!

Herbivore oils: Bakuchiol and Lapis – I have these oils for a long time and so it was about time that I try these. I remembered also that some girls complained that oils went bad really quickly and I do not want this to happen to mine. I prefer Bakuchiol oil to Lapis since it is lighter, absorbed faster and feels better on a skin. Lapis reminds me of an oil I have already in my stash and it is Aromatica blue lively oil which is much cheaper and still equaly good.

Real Barrier Essence mist – this is nice mist that is on a thicker side, so it is not practical as a first step. It smells nice, hydrates and nourishes at the same time. It leaves a bit of a film on the skin, but it is not sticky. I use it as to seal the moisture from Hydraluron.

The Inkey List Retinol eye cream – Although this eye cream aims the demographics so much younger than mine (it says on the packaging it is for 25+, and I’m 25+15 + few more 🙂 ), I still had to try because of the retinol in it. Actually I do not feel that it contains retinol since it is not aggressive in any way. It is very lightweight and feels like that on the skin, sinks in nicely and leaves the skin hydrated. We’ll see for the long-term effects since it is really to early to talk about it.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened in June 2020

I’m here again with another post about all the products I introduced to my skincare routine during past month.

If you’re curious about the products I have introduced recently (last few months), you can click here for April and May.

Algenist Alive Prebiotic balancing mask – I got this mask in my SpaceNK birthday gift. It is fun to use as its colour changes from pale baby blue to pale pink once you start massaging it in the skin. Some people say it is gimmicky, I say it’s fun.  As far as the effect of this mask goes, it feels on my skin as every other clay mask. My skin feels and looks purified, brightened and healthy. Although the packaging I got is really small, I will have it for at least 5-6 applications since a little goes a long way.

The Ordinary Pycnogenol 5% – Besides the vitamin C, I’m always searching for some other anti-oxidant, so this serum was a logical choice. I use it in my morning routine, but I do not skip the vitamin C when using the pycnogenol. Although there is no oil in it, this serum is kind of oily, but is absorbed very quickly in the skin and makes a perfect canvas for the application of sunscreen (I currently rotate Klairs Soft airy uv essence and Ducray Melascreen). It has a dark, red colour, but does not stain the skin. It has a little funky smell that reminds me of vinegar.

Ducray Melascreen spf50 light – I always like to have 2 or more sunscreens in my routine. I tend to use this sunscreen on my no makeup days. It is heavier than my Klairs Soft airy uv essence, but still it feels nice on the skin and is well absorbed. It leaves a little bit of white cast at first, but this disappears quickly. I have also used it few times under my bb cream, and it didn’t cause my makeup to glide off my face. I like it so far.

I’m from Fig cleansing balm – this was the first item I ordered from South Korea after long hiatus (long time in my shopping terms is 3 months). As mentioned in my Stash decrease project post, I’m on a nobuy, but also due to the pandemics I do not have access to any Kbeauty sellers since they do not deliver the packages to my country for the moment. I was happy like a child who got his long yearned toy when I received this cleansing balm. I like it so far. It looks a bit heavier and greasy, but once I rub it in my palms and heat it, it melts nicely. It is efficient, removes well the makeup and spf. It does blur my eyes a bit, but this disappears quickly.

Atrue Green tea watery calming cream – This moisturizer is the first product I have tried from the brand Atrue. It is really nice, light cream and perfect choice for summer moisturizer. The texture is not thick and it sinks nicely in the skin. It provides nice moisture. I use it mostly in my night routine as a last step.

Paula’s Choice 10% niacinamide booster – The niacinamide is one of the most important parts of my skincare routine. I use it every day in my night routine as a first step after cleansing. I usually buy Kbeauty niacinamide serums, but since I cannot order anything from S Korea for the moment, I’m currently testing western ones. After I tried Garden of Wisdom niacinamide (I talked about it in my last Empties), I finally opened Paula’s Choice one. Its watery consistency is perfect for my skincare routine. It is not drying or irritating. It sinks fast and perfectly in the skin. I love it so far.

CNP Green propolis ampoule – I love good propolis serum and always have one in my stash and in my routine. This CNP is on a thicker and little bit stickier side. Because of its consistency, it is really difficult to handle it / dose it with the pipette it comes with. I will go through it fast since this is a 5ml sample.

Sioris Time is running out mist – This was the love at first spritz! I just love, love, love this mist. It it biphasic mist that contains oils for nourishing, but it feels so light and refreshing on the skin. And the smell is divine! It doesn’t smell of essential oils as some mists do. This scent is really unique and beautiful, but since I’m really bad in describing the scents and perfumes, I will let you discover it yourself. I use this mist in my morning routine, under my hyaluronic acid toner and they play great together.

Lixirskin Vitamin C paste – I had this paste for quite a while in my stash so I was a bit worried that it would go bad which can happen often with products containing vitamin C, but to my great pleasure this was not the case this time. I expected something much thicker, since it is called a paste, but don’t let the name fool you. It is nice gel mask which really easily spread. The thing I really like about this product that it doesn’t require a lot of time to work. I leave it for maybe 2-3 minutes and wash it off. And the first application really blew my mind away, because the shine it gave to my skin was so insane. This shine was reduced a bit with the further application, but I still shine bright with this mask (I’m listening an old Rihanna’s hit as I’m writing this). And I didn’t experience any reaction (tingling, burning, redness). The only thing I don’t like is the scent (I have to admit that it stinks), but this funky scent disappears quickly. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be a pleasant masking experience at all. Anyhow, I like this mask.

What did you introduce to your routine lately?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened in May 2020

This is my 3rd post in the series of posts about newly opened products. If you’re interested in the products I opened last months, click for March and April.

As mentioned before, I’m on a nobuy, so I do not have any hauls to share.

I have a nice share of opened products since I was really diligent in emptying skincare in May. I try not to open too much before emptying some similar skincare items.

So, without further ado, these products found their way to my skincare routine during May:

I’m From Rice toner – I have already used this toner last year. It is packed with 77,78% of rice extract and promises the brightening and moisturizing effect on your skin. It is lightweight, sinks in quickly and feels very nice on the skin.

Tatcha The Deep Cleanse – I opened this gel cleanser having in mind that I would use it on a daily basis as a second cleanser. However after the first test, I decided to use it only few times a week because of the fact that it contains some exfoliating beads. These are not harsh in any way, but I do not use anything on a daily basis that resembles to exfoliating products. Otherwise, this is a nice gel cleanser, a little goes a long way, it is effective, not drying, rinses off nicely.

Berrisom The Prestige Balancing eye serum – when buying this serum, I had an idea to use it only in my morning routine, in place of an eye cream. This is lightweight eye serum, it has a jelly texture that is spread so nicely, sinks in beautifully and completely. It hydrates the eye area, works well under the spf and bb cream, it doesn’t pill. I like it so far.

Benton Fermentation eye cream – Although I have read lots of raving reviews for this eye cream, I have never thought of purchasing it until I got it in my Iherb Kbeauty bag few months ago. It has a light texture, I would say airy, but the application is little bit complicated. I do not get to massage it easily, sometimes I feel like I have only spread it around my eyes. I really have to work it in before it begins to absorb. Although it is light, I do not feel that it is hydrating enough. I use it in my evening routine.

Banila Co Miss Flower & Mr Honey cream – I have to admit that I’m kind of emotional about this moisturizer since it brings me back to my Kbeauty beginnings. When I started to explore Kbeauty back in 2014/2015, this moisturizer was one of the highly raved Kbeauty products and I wanted to try it so bad. However, the price of full size was pretty high and there were no samples available. Meanwhile, I forgot about this moisturizer, but when I saw the set of 3 mini-size jars, I simply couldn’t resist to buying it. I have only used for few times, but I like it so far. The texture of this moisturizer is kind of waxy but it melts nicely when you massage it in the skin and is absorbed nicely without any sticky or greasy residue. It is moisturizing and calming. What I also like about this moisturizer is the scent. It smells like one of my favorite sheet mask Papa Recipe honey. I was so afraid that this product would disappoint me after so many years, but it didn’t.

Cerave Moisturizing lotion 200ml – I must admit I’m a little bit sceptical when a product is being advertised as face and body product and that’s why I was hesitant for quite a long time to buying this lotion. However, when a friend of mine sent me a small jar to try it, I was really pleasantly surprised by its performance. This is really a basic product, but it provides such a nice and deep hydration and some moisture, but also calms the skin. It has 3 types of ceramides and as thus, besides moisturising, it should be beneficial also for your skin barrier. I apply it in both my morning and evening routine whenever I want to add some moisture.

Botanic Farm Grain Ferment cleansing sherbet – This is nice cleansing balm. Its texture is very soft and breaks down in oil very quickly. When I introduced it in my routine, I thought that it broke me out, but it seems that it was only due to my PMS. However, I have some doubts about its efficacy when it comes to removing the makeup, but I do not wear it often lately and will have to test it again.

Blithe Crystal Iceplant pressed serum – Since I really enjoyed using Blithe Tundra chaga pressed serum which I emptied lately, I was very curious about this one and hoped that it would be the same skincare treat. My first impressions do not feel like this is going to happen. This pressed serum has a texture of gel moisturiser and promises to hydrate and soothe the skin. It is lightweight serum, not similar in any way to Tundra chaga pressed serum. It sinks in quickly and completely and hydrates the skin. It is pleasant to use, soothes and cools the skin, but other than that for the moment, I do not see any additional benefit (I have been using for maybe 10 days in my morning routine). Obviously due to the texture, it is perfect choice for the upcoming summer season.

Celimax The Real Noni energy ampoule – this is really nice lightweight ampoule. It is very hydrating and moisturizing, but also very refreshing. It has a very interesting scent, I would dare to say almost therapeutic and thus, it makes the use of this serum very pleasant and healing. Noni as plant / ingredient is anti-oxidant, so the benefits of using this ampoule should be even more important. The one thing I do not like about this ampoule is that I will finish it very quickly if I continue using it every day.

The Ordinary squalane oil – this oil is part of my stash for a long time, so it was really about time to introduce it into my routine. I didn’t want to open any oil, until I emptied the Sunday Riley Juno. This oil is very light. It is not oily at all (if it makes sense of saying it like that). It is calming, nourishing, I use it also on my hair although it is not primarily its purpose.

Garden of Wisdom niacinamide – this serum reminds me of The Inkey List niacinamide by its texture and application. You only need 1-2 pumps of serum for whole face. It is light emulsion and it feels like a jelly, it is absorbed fast in the skin. My skin itches for few seconds after the application. Although by the content of niacinamide (5%), it is not as potent as other niacianamide serums I usually use (10%), it does feel kind of strong on the skin and I honestly think that it will be drying if used  long-term.

Aromatica Lively blue calming oil – I bought this oil long time ago, so honestly I forgot about it, until I rediscover it when making my stash inventory. This oil owes its blue hue, but also its calming features to azulene. It is one of the lightest oil I have tried so far and it is very watery. It feels like oil only for few seconds when you apply it on the skin. It is absorbed flawlessly and nicely without any greasy residue and it makes skin very soft, smooth and calmed. I use it also to prevent the dryness or redness after I use A313 pommade (vitamin A). I really like it so far.

What have you been choosing lately from your skincare stash?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened in April 2020

Hello everybody!

Since I’m on a no-buy, I do not have any haul to share with you and that’s why I started to write in March about the products I opened during the month.  So, here are my newly opened skincare products from April.

Heimish All clean balm – I got this mini jar in Kbeauty bag from Iherb. This is not my first encounter with this cleansing balm. I have already tried it at the very beginning of my Kbeauty adventure and I must admit that I didn’t like it then for some reason I cannot remember now (I didn’t like Banila either). Since my favorite cleansing balm (Farmacy Green clean) is rather expensive, I thought I could give this balm a try again. The jar is sufficient for maybe a week or so,  so I will be able to test it properly. So far I like it, although it doesn’t feel as buttery as my Farmacy balm once you start massaging it.

Clinique Take the day off cleansing balm – I have never tried before this famous Clinique’s cleansing balm. Although I really love my Farmacy Green clean, I always try to test other cleansing balms. At first, Clinique is more solid and greasier than Farmacy, it doesn’t melt as nicely as Farmacy and it leaves a film on the skin after rinsing. I do not like it after the first application.

A’pieu Good morning sorbet mask – Although I am pretty persistent in maintaining my skincare routine, I do wake up from time to time feeling lazy to do my normal skincare routine. On one of those mornings, I opened this mask. It is supposed to be the last step of the morning routine and it is not supposed to be wash off (this is kind of sleeping pack for morning 😁). I only did a water splash and then I put on this mask. After minute or two, I felt really strong cooling feeling. The mask left a tiny sticky film on the skin, but it’s bearable. I followed the mask with only Dr Jart Re-cover cream and didn’t experience any issues during the day.

Keep Cool & Soothe Bamboo toner – Since all the toners I currently use are more on a thicker side (Scinic, Klavuu, Earth Recipe), I wanted to reintroduce some watery toner to my routine. I struggled a bit between my all time favorite watery toner Pyunkang Yul mist toner and this one, but finally I decided to open Keep Cool and Smoothe. This time I left aside something old and blue (Pyunkang Yul) and took something new (Keep Cool & Soothe). 😁

It is really watery, light, completely odourless and absorbed fast. I have a feeling that the hydration it provides really penetrates deeply into the skin. I did 3-skin method with this toner and I was amazed how plump and healthy my skin looked. It is composed mostly of bamboo water, but also contains sodium hyaluronate, glycerine, etc. It has a nice ingredients list. I like it so far.

Nooni Re-pair turnover peel pads (7-days regimen) – although it is a 1-week treatment, I do not use the pads every single day. In general, I do not use anything on a daily basis that is supposed to do the peeling or has some acids in the ingredients list. These pads are gentle, I didn’t experience any stinging or had any bad skin reaction what so ever.  Concerning the exfoliating part, since this is gentle I do not see some big effect. The skin is softer, but there is no big difference before and after I apply these pads.

Timeless C + E ferulic serum – I finally got my hands on this highly raved serum. Although I’m used to the vitamin C serums, my small disaster with The Inkey List’s serum made me take a pause from vitamin C, but finally I did open it. My first impression is that I like it. It is really watery, so I only need few drops to cover my face. It is absorbed completely and doesn’t leave any sticky residue. And what is the most important, it doesn’t sting, burn or anything similar. I store it in my refrigerator in order to keep it fresh.

Dr.Jart+ Every Sun Day Mild sun spf43 PA+++ – All I have to say is that at first I was so happy that I only had a small tube of 5ml. This is a mineral sunscreen, it is thick and just like lot of other mineral sunscreens it leaves a significant white cast, so I look like a ghost for a while when I apply it. It absorbs and dries out completely with a matte finish. What I didn’t like also is that once it is absorbed I had the feeling that my skin is very dry. However, when I added 1 additional layer of moisture under this sunscreen, I really had a nice experience and love how my face looks with this sunscreen and without bb cream.

Some by Mi Yuja niacin brightening sleeping mask – this is a lightweight gel type sleeping mask that is absorbed fast and completely into the skin and seals nicely your evening routine. It is refreshing, hydrating and really brightening. It has a nice citrusy scent, but it is not overwhelming or annoying. The skin feels soft to touch in the morning, plump and refreshed. I think it will be a perfect sleeping mask for the summer. I quite like it.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

Products I opened in March 2020

Hello everybody!

I hope you’re all well and healthy. Stay safe and listen to your health care professionals and epidemiologists in these unfortunate moments. And stay  home (if possible)!

Whoever read my 2 previous posts knows that I’m on a no-buy. So obviously I will not be posting any time soon my new-in posts or shopping sprees as I did in the past.

However, I will start a new post series of what I opened during the month and these will also include some first impressions.

So without further ado, here are the products I opened during March.

Scinic Snail Matrix skin – since I emptied my HG snail product, Cosrx 96 snail essence, I had to introduce something that contains snail mucus. This toner has a jelly texture which is of course thicker than other toners. Of course, it has some slip to it and is nicely spread. It is hydrating and calming. Before opening this toner, I have already used a decanted bottle of around 10ml which I liked and that’s why I bought a full size product.

The Inkey List Vitamin C serum – I bought Timeless Vitamin C E + ferulic recently and thought of introducing it immediately to my routine, as I do not think that the texture of this TIL serum is suitable for the quick morning routines. However, due to the unfortunate conditions around the COVID-19, I started to work from home on March 16th, so I changed my mind and opened The Inkey List serum. I have already written about it in one of my Empties posts. I must admit that it is not for everyone. The percentage of ascorbic acid is pretty high (30%), so for someone who is not used to vitamin C, this could be too much and could cause some redness and burning effect. And, to my big astonishment, this is exactly what happened to me with the first application of this serum!! I had such a nice experience when using the first tube so this came out of blue for me. I thought that this was initial reaction to reintroducing the potent vitamin C serum. Unfortunately I was wrong, because I experienced the same reaction next 2 times I applied it. It sensitised my skin in such a way that my face was red like tomato and a part of my forehead was sensitive to a touch and it hurt. Obviously, this serum is no longer working for me (at least in a way I used to apply it). I should probably try to buffer it with some cream. However, it does work as a spot treatment because it healed in 2 days the pimple I had on my chin.

Caudalie Vinosource S.O.S. serum – this is one of only 2 western serums that I always come back to and will continue to do so. It is a lightweight milky serum which is deeply hydrating and soothing. The skin feels so smooth and refreshed. I use it in both of my routines. The only thing I do not like is the fact that I go really fast through it due to its thin texture.

Some by mi Truecica mineral 100 calming suncream – although I’m not all the way through my current sunscreen, Klairs Airy uv essence, which I really like, I opened this and lend it to my father who was supposed to do some gardening. Before that, I made a demonstration of how to apply it, so I tried it too. Although it is a mineral sunscreen, it does not leave a white cast, it is not difficult to massage it into the skin, it didn’t leave any greasy residue. I did notice some scent to it (I think it is a tea-tree oil or something similar) but it disappeared quickly.  I like it so far, but I will see how it works under my bb cream.

Skin&Lab Barrierderm Repair ampoule – I bought this almost a year ago and honestly forgot about it. This was one of my impulsive shopping, without reading ingredients or reviews. I was probably attracted by the barrier repair part from its name and some promo price on Jolse. When you open it, you can feel the light scent of alcohol, nothing too strong, but still present. It has a watery texture and light pink hue to it, it is non-sticky. It sinked in fast. My first impression is that I have no great expectations now. I think it will be a mediocre ampoule.

Make P:rem Wonderful me mask in-shower face pack – although I bought this for the upcoming summer season, I still opened it to try how it works. I have to see if I applied it in proper way since I put it on while my face was wet from shower and in a thicker layer (the packaging says that it should be put in a thin layer). I washed it off in shower and I didn’t put any skincare product for more than hour and still my skin didn’t feel tight or dry, so I guess it works well.

Alpha-H Daily moisturizer spf50 – Although I have 2 sunscreens in use (Klairs and Some by mi), I opened the 3rd one because I’m a bit concerned about the future shipments from Korea with this unfortunate pandemic of Covid-19 (almost all Ebay sellers and online stores from South Korea and Japan do not ship to my country for the moment). The first use was a pleasant one, no white cast, it sinked in fast without greasiness left. However, one ingredient caught my attention and I need to research a bit, as it seems to me that it might be a very bad one.

Sidmool Dr Troub niaten serum – this is my second bottle. I like its watery, thin texture since I use the niacinamide as a first step of my evening routine so it fits perfectly. It brightens the skin, evens and smoothes skin texture. I didn’t experience any side effect. In the future, I will rotate this serum with Tiam B3 Vita source.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

I’m on a no-buy? It’s more a go-buy!

Hello everybody!

I didn’t post for quite a long time till my last Empties 5 post. During this absence, I was really active in emptying products as you could have seen, but unfortunately for my wallet, I was also more than active in buying skincare despite of being on a no-buy regime (obviously the decision to stop shopping the skincare wasn’t firm enough).

I bought again a significant number of products, some of them were already mentioned in last Empties post, some of them are in use and some of them waiting their turn to be opened. While I wasn’t active here last few months, I was participating quite often on a message board about Kbeauty where I was posting my purchases. I saved the photos I had taken, so you will be able to see how far away I am from a no-buy!

Labiotte UV veil  and Blithe Crystal Iceplant pressed serum are still not opened.

Isntree C-niacin toning ampoule is nice choice for those who like to combine the vitamin C and niacinamide.

As a big fan of sheet masks, I’m always buying and trying the new ones. However, there are few types which I keep buying and one of these is Klairs Midnight blue calming sheet mask.

Manyo Factory Galactomy niacin serum and Hanyul Artemisia miracle relief essence are already emptied.

Klavuu White Pearlsation Revitalising Pearl treatment toner and I’m from Honey mask are already in use. I had high hopes from both of those 2 products, but I’m not so impressed, especially with Klavuu toner. Blith Patting splash mask – Rejuvenating berry and Neogen White truffle serum in oil drop are still not yet opened (I’ve tried a Blithe berry mask, since I received the small decant)

I was so happy when I bought Earth Recipe Energy Boosting toner which was on my wish list for quite a while. I haven’t tried it yet. On the other hand, I did open Goodal Green Tangerine vita c serum and it is nice, but not much more than that.

I always have a bottle of Mizon AHA/BHA daily clean toner. Hanskin Hyaluron skin essence and Acwell licorice 5.5 ph balancing toner are repurchased items. I’m from Magnolia sleeping mask was so long and so high on my wish list. It seems that it is discontinued. Some by me Yuja Niacin sleeping mask was an impulsive buy and it is still not in use. Dr Jart Blue peptidin was bought after I had tried a mini size serum.

Nature Republic and The Saem hair packs are repurchased items. All the others (Krave beauty Matcha-hemp hydrating cleanser, Isntree tw real eye cream and I‘m From rice mask) were bought for the first time and are already in use. I really like Krave Beauty cleanser.

It’s skin Power 10 formula LI effector is my HG calming serum/ampoule (combined with Cosrx Snail 96 mucin essence). A’pieu Glacier water hydrating ampoule and Wellage masks were bought for the first time. I have already opened A’pieu serum and it delivers very nice hydration. Dr Jart Ceramidin body butter is the first Kbeauty body care product I have purchased.

Neogen Real ferment micro essence is my HG essence. I have another bottle coming. Oneoseven Low ph chaga cleanser is the first time purchase.

Although I did try some items from Iherb Kbeauty bag, I still didn’t want to miss this bargain. Petitfee Beta-glucan deep firming eye mask and 23years old Aqua bab modelling mask were bought for the first time.

All these items were bought for the first time (Klavuu white pearlsation ideal actress backstage cream spf30, A’pieu luster lighting bb cream, A’pieu Madecassoside hand cream and Rovectin skin essentials activating treatment lotion). I’m really looking forward to try Rovectin lotion. By the way, don’t you think that the name of Klavuu cream is just hilarious?

The sample set is Cosrx Oil-free ultra moisturizing lotion with birch sap which I wanted to try for a long time so when I saw these samples, I clicked buy button immediately.

This is my wonder box 😁. The fact that I purchased some of these, like The Plant Base Quesera ceramide serum and Atrue Spring green tea watery calming cream, really made me satisfied and happy, because I finally got my hands on them. I’m really keen to see how I’m From mugwort essence works. Tonymoly Pro-clean smoky eye and lips makeup remover is my favourite makeup remover and obviously repurchased item. On the other hand, Etude House makeup remover was purchased for the first time. Laneige cream skin refiner and Huxley Secret of Sahara oil-essence are repurchased items. Thank you farmer true water deep serum and sheet masks were bought for the first time.

Most of these were bought with some discount codes on Ebay or during some promotions on Jolse.

And I still have to share with you my Black Friday haul.

I guess no one will ever believe me again when I say I’m on a no-buy!!

What did you buy lately?

Till next time stay healthy and beautiful!

My first Sephora and Bath & Body works haul ever

Although I was on a low/no-buy regime during certain time, I knew that in April I would be travelling to USA for a business trip and that I would treat myself with few things that I cannot come across easily (neither in the drugstores back home, nor on different webshops that ship the orders to my country).

Of course, this haul was not only for me, I also bought some presents for my family. Like everything else lately, this post has been written for a long time and of course is long ovedue one (again).

Visiting Sephora was a perfect opportunity to buy some Drunk Elephant items which are intriguing me for quite a while now. I bought a Rise & Glow set that contains 2 mini serums C-Firma and B-Hydra and I picked as a gift two other items (Jelly cleanser and Protini polypeptide cream).

Some Tatcha skincare products also found their way to my shopping basket (again not in a full size). The only full size product I bought is Farmacy Green clean cleansing balm. I opened it already and I just love it!! It is the BEST cleansing balm I’ve tried so far!! It is so great that I’m even thinking about repurchasing it inspite of its hefty price tag (for a cleansing balm).

As a big admirer and user of Kbeauty products, I couldn’t pass by Glow Recipe range, so I bought 2 items, also in travel size: Blueberry bounce cleanser and their famous Watermelon sleeping pack. I have already tried both products, but I have to say that my first impressions are not so enthousiastic as I was before shopping. I’ll let you know about my further impressions.

Besides Drunk Elephant gift, I also got few other complimentary items: Dr Dennis Gross pads, Deva Curl Supercream and Amorepacific enzyme peeling mask.

I bought quite a few makeup items: some of them were gifted and some of them are for me. As you can see, there are some items from Sephora collection, Anastasia Beverly Hills, Kat von D, Fenty Beauty,..

And last, but definetely not the least: Natasha Denona Mini Star palette. Taking into account the price of Natasha Denona’s full size palettes (mostly 100USD and more), I must say that I would never spend this amount of money for an eyeshadow palette. However, 25 USD for 5 eyeshadows of nice quality sounded like a good bargain.

And for the end, here are some products bought at Bath & Body works. This was my first encounter with this brand and their shop. Most of these were given as gift.

I really look forward to my next visit to both shops.

What do you usually buy at Sephora? Do you like Bath & Body works?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

My shopping spree before my low/no-buy decision

First of all, this is a post which is really, but really a long overdue one. I started editing it few months ago. Some of the items below are already in use, but I will still share it with you.

Since I’m keeping track of my purchases, my  stash and use of all types of products, I came to a conclusion few months ago, that it was of an utmost necessity that I stopped buying skincare items for a certain period of time.  And that’s how I took a decision to keep myself on a buying diet at least till my birthday which was in April or even longer.  But before that, I still wanted to enjoy a bit in shopping and as a result, you will see below what I bought. And then, when I saw what I had bought (hoarded!!) during this time,  when I remembered what I had already opened and what I had,  I decided that I would need to be on a no buy regime till the end of 2019!!! You have to remember that my whole beauty stash is bought by my own money!!

So, below you can see the results of my last madness/spree (all this was delivered to me a while ago, but I haven’t written anything here for quite a while now).

SKINCARE

Skinfood Royal honey propolis enrich essence – I like very much honey and propolis in the skincare and always have at least one product that contains those ingredients. I also tried this essence when a friend decanted a small bottle and I liked how nourishing it was and how healthy my skin looked, so I really had to buy it.

From Nature Age treatment ampoule – one of the bloggers I follow, wrote a really interesting review of this product, so I bought it on a whim. Actually, this is a second bottle I bought, since I gave the first one to my sister as one of the Christmas gifts.

Medi-Peel Bortox – as I already mentioned in my post about 2018, I tried quite a lot of peptide serums last year and I really liked most of them. I tried this serum also afer receiving a decanted bottle and I liked it, so I had to buy a full size product.

Easydew DW-EGF cream – this one was also a result of an impulsive shopping due to the fact that I watched some youtube video mentioning EGF as an ingredient (I think it was Sokoglam’s serie about their curations). Actually, the product they curated costs more than 80 USD, so obviously I treated myself with something similar that costs 19 USD.

Manyo Factory Miracle Overnight sleeping pack – this is repurchased item. I wrote about it in my 2018 overview post since it is my HG sleeping pack and I will keep on buying it. I love how it is nicely absorbed. It gives my skin a nice moisture and perfect healthy glow. It has an interesting scent and nice texture. Will repurchase for sure as I have already said!

Cosrx low ph BHA sleeping mask – since I fell in love in Manyo Factory’s miracle sleeping mask, I look more often towards this kind of products. This mask was a a new Cosrx product for me and the ingredients combination is really interesting.

The Ordinary Marula oil and Plant-derived squalane – I didn’t use oils in my skincare since quite a while. I feel like my skin could benefit a lot from oils during the winter/spring, so I bought these two oils since they are really affordable and have excellent reviews. Also, I didn’t try a lot of product from Deciem/The Ordinary, but whatever I tried, I liked it (Buffet, Granactive retinoid 1% in squalane).

Sunday Riley Juno – I bought it since I really wanted to try something from Sunday Riley range. I adore this packaging which looks really luxurious. We will see if the results match the look.

Farsali Rose gold – this was bought on a whim together with the Sunday Riley Juno. Honestly I do not know a lot about this oil or about the brand, but I look forward to try it.

Benton Deep Green tea lotion – this is a relatively new product without too many reviews. This was a really impulsive shopping, since I basically wanted to buy a toner from the same line, but I didn’t pay much attention to what I was buying. If this proves to be a nice product, I will probably buy a toner too.

Neogen Green tea cleansing stick – Since my favourite cleansing stick is probably discontinued (SU:M37 Miracle rose cleansing stick), I wanted to try something similar. This Neogen stick will have a lot to live up to, since Miracle Rose stick was not only my favourite cleansing stick, but my favourite 2nd cleanser.

Laneige Cream skin refiner – also an impulsive buy after I saw one review. Till now I didn’t try a lot of Laneige products (I tried the famous sleeping mask in the blue jar, but honestly didn’t like it at all).

Missha Time revolution The first treatment essence (travel size) – I tried this FTE at the very beginning of my Kbeauty experience and I didn’t notice lots of benefits from it. Since I really like how the first treatment essences work on my skin, I thought I could give a second chance to the famous Missha essence.

Ausome Organic rehydrating double mist 50ml – I like to use the mists especially in the morning and when I’m travelling to prevent a dehydration. This looks like an excellent mist and we will see if I’m right.

Primera skincare kit – I haven’t tried anything from Primera brand up till now. I’m mostly curious about the toner and the essence and I really look forward to try it. I think I really have to start buying more often the travel size and sample products like I did in the beginning of my Kbeauty experience.

Neogen Real fermentation essence – I was watching this essence for so long, that I really thought I would never buy it! First, I wasn’t able to find it anywhere except on some USA online stores which have extremely high shopping costs to my country. And then when I finally found it on Ebay at some Korean sellers, it cost a small fortune: more than 50 USD!! So, when my saved search showed it at 35 USD, I just had to buy it! I’m so thrilled to have it finally in my stash! Yeah! I do not have to mention that I have extremelly high hopes for this essence!!

SHEET MASKS

Tosowoong Dr Troubex sparkling sheet masks – this was bought also based on a nice review from a Kbeauty blogger.

CNP Laboratories ampoule mask 3x – this is a set of 3 different ampoule sheet masks (green propolis, mugener, vita whitening). I was using their cleanser as a second cleansing step (CNP Laboratories Cera perfect barrier) and I loved  it. I have their propolis serum on my wish list, so a sheet mask is a cheaper way to test if some other products (other than a cleanser) work.

Blithe Intensive Mask Bluezone Marine Cucumber – I’m very intrigued lately by Blithe products, but since they are on a pricey side, I’m trying to find some promo prices to test them. I bought this mask as a complement to my order from Beautybay.

Benton Goodbye redness centella – although I rearly suffer from a skin redness, I always like to have something in my stash that can fight the redness, sensitivity or similar. Although I haven’t tried these masks, this sounds like it could answer to such challenge. I would also try to test the gel cream from the same line.

Leegeegam Deep & quick mask – Tone-up care – this was also an impulsive buy as result of reading a message board about Kbeauty.

Naruko sheet masks (different types) – only Naruko sheet mask I tried up till now was the one with snail mucin and it was horrible. On the other side, I read so many great reviews about their Narcissus sheet mask that I had to try it.

HAIR CARE

Nature Republic Argan essence deep care steam mask and Missha Damaged hair therapy steam mask – these are the first  products I purchased for my hair. I have high hopes from these masks.

MAKEUP

BH Cosmetics Color Lock Long Lasting Matte Lipstick in shade Passionate – I usually buy the lipstick and lip glosses in red (mostly cool tones), neutrals and fuchsia. This kind of brave purple shades always intrigued me, but I have never bought one. The discounted prices of only 3 EUR for BH lipsticks was an invitation for me to try the purple lipstick.

Urban Decay On the run palette – another impulsive buy. Honestly my eye makeup routine is quite basic: eye primer, eye liner and mascara, sometimes eye shadow, so my stash of palettes will last till 2039.

What did you buy lately?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!
