My first skincare routine in 2019

Happy New year everyone!! Plenty of love and happiness!

This will be a short New year’s post, since I would just like to share with you my first morning routine in 2019.

I just wanted to look fresh and hydrate the skin. That’s why I have 3 toners for my own version of 7-skin method (Olivarrier Dual moist, Pyunkang yul mist toner and Isntree aloe).  And of course, since this is new year, I wanted to introduce something new and the choice I made was I’m from Magnolia wake essence. Of course, it is way too early to share my thoughts on this.

All I can say that the consistency is more of a serum than an essence, it is of nice pinkish magnolia colour, spreads nicely and hydrates well.

So this was my first 2019 routine.

I wish you all the best in New year without any skin concern and a bunch of nice products that do miracles for your skin.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

The newest additions to my little stash: what did I buy lately?

While everybody is still enjoying in Christmas gifts, I would like to share with you what I treated myself with lately. As mentioned before in some other posts, I’m really trying to keep myself on a no-buy regime, but weak as I am, I relapse from time to time, so here are the newest editions to my beauty stash:

Lookfantastic x Molton Brown limited edition box – I discovered Molton Brown shower gels in LF advent calendar and I fell in love immediately! Such special and unusual scents!! My favourite is Pink Pepperpod! This box was really a great bargain. I just love the packaging of this box.

Lookfantastic x MAC limited edition box – Since I do not have anything from Mac, I thought that this box was a good choice to check out all: lipstick, mascara, lip gloss, their famous fixing spray. For the moment, I only tried the lipstick (Twig 824) and it’s perfect creamy nude shade (it looks a little bit darker on the photo).

Acwell N5.5. balancing micro cleansing foam – for me the cleansers are probably the only product category where I cannot comitt to one special product.  I’m always searching,  trying, testing, looking for a new one although I found some really nice cleansers. I chose this cleanser mostly because I like the brand (Acwell licorice toner is one of my favourite toners) and the fact it advertises low ph.

Liz K first C serum 13% – As I probably mentioned already, my skin adores the serums containing vitamin C and I constantly have at least one C vitamin serum in my routine. I will empty soon my Melano CC serum, so I wanted to try something new. Can’t wait to try this.

Klavuu nourishing lip sleeping pack – I only tried 2 kind of lip sleeping packs (Laneige, Carenel) and neither one was good for me. I hope this one will be better.

Macadamia hair treatment – My hairdresser is using this for my hair, so I thought that I should have it also at home.

Blithe Tundra chaga pressed serum – I think I saw this product for the first time on Gothamista’s youtube channel a while ago and I liked the idea of the pressed serum. However, the price is a bit steap and no samples are available, so I couldn’t make myself buy this. That’s why we have Black Friday discounts to buy the things like this. This was a catch from  Beautybay.

Tonymoly Pro Clean Smoky eyes & lips makeup remover – this is repurchased item. It is my HG when it comes to makeup removers.

Knowing how I like the sheet masks, I do not think that my new-in post is possible without at least one sheet mask. This time I bought Klairs Midnight blue calming, two kinds of A by bom and Dr. Jart Ceramidin.

Scinic peptide ampoule – lately I’m into the peptide products a lot!! I tried Klairs midnight blue drops and for the moment, I use The Ordinary Buffet. I see that overall appearance of my skin improved, so I will keep using the peptides serums. This one is highly recommended by the girls on a forum thread I follow. And I got a sheet mask as a gift.

The Body Shop body yoghurt – since TBS doesn’t have any store in my country, whenever I travel and come across The Body Shop store, I always buy myself something  (body butter, shower gel, etc) and always buy some presents for my family. This body yoghurt was bought in Budapest.

Different makeup items – I bought few lipsticks (liquid ones: Milani and Sleek  and Nyx lipstick).

Did you treat yourself with some skincare or makeup product lately?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

How do I cleanse my face?

Hello everybody!

We all know how much cleansing is important for achieving and/or maintaining the healthy and beautiful skin. This is something I keep repeating to myself everytime I’m feeling lasy at night before going to bed and when I’m thinking about going to sleep without removing the make up. Although it is a big NO for skincareenthousiac like me, I have to admit that it does happen from time to time (I know, I know what you are thinking right now). And exactly because of this, beside my morning and my evening cleansing routines, I introduced the 3rd cleansing routine: a lasy one.

As you can imagine, my lasy cleansing routine doesn’t have many steps: it consists of removing the eye make up with the eye & lip make up remover, cleansing with the micellar water, water splash and then I go straight to bed. I’m not a big fan of micellar waters, but I always have one bottle in my beauty stash or at least one travel size bottle in my travel beauty bag. I emptied lately Labiotte Micellar water and I wrote about it in my last Empties post.

My newest addition to a lasy cleansing routine are Harumada Triple balance one step cleansing foam pads. I bought a 10-pcs pack and I have already used few of them. These are quite nice cleansing pads which remove well the make up. However, I cannot use it on my eyes since it got to my eyes and it burnt terribly. The pads are packed like the sheet mask and inside you can find the product that has the same shape  as Neogen peeling pads, but a bit bigger than Neogen. One side is embossed and used first to spread the cleanser and the other one is smooth and when you apply it, the cleanser foams, but not much. It removes the make up completely and when I wash it off, it leaves the face clean and smooth. It can replace both of cleansing steps. These pads are also very travel friendly and besides my lasy routine, I will use them for travels.

Besides my lasy cleansing routine which is simple, my morning cleansing routine also  tends to be equally simple. Either I do just a water splash and dry my face or I have 1-step cleansing routine. This depends on 2 things: how my skin looks in the morning and how many layers I put the night before. Although my skin is not greasy, sometimes I wake up with greasy and shiny traces, but not shiny in a good and healthy way. And this happens usually around my nose area (not my complete T zone, it’s rather I zone 😁). In this case, I  follow 1-step cleansing routine and for that purposes,  I use my 2nd cleanser from the night routine.  For the moment, I rotate two of them: Tosowoong enzyme powder wash and CNP Laboratories Perfect barrier cera cleanser. I really like both of them. However, since they both have some grains inside, I’m a little bit worried that I do not overexfoliate my skin, even though both cleansers are very mild. That’s why I’m actually thinking about introducing a new cleanser: my 3rd 2nd cleanser. It sounds funny!

Few words about each of my 2nd cleansers. CNP Laboratories Perfect barrier cera cleanser is my latest discovery. I really like it. It is mild, effective, little goes a long way, I only need a pea size of it to clean thouroughly the face. It foams nicely, but not too much, cleans very well the skin without stripping it. As I said, it has some small grains inside, which worried me at first, but I see now after almost 2 months of using it, that it’s quite fine. The other cleanser / peeling I use is Tosowoong enzyme powder. Again the little goes a long way, but it might take you a while to find a perfect quantity to use. You can melt it completely or leave the grains partially, it’s up to you. I usually melt it completely and use it as a cleanser. Even when I leave some grains, it is not a harsh peeling. It foams nicely and cleans nicely. I use it once or twice a week.

And we come now to my evening cleansing routine. As a first cleanser, I’m currently using Kose Softymo oil.

It is such a nice cleansing oil. I need only 1 pump to clean well the face. When I add the water, the oil emulsifies nicely,  it is washed off easily and it doesn’t leave any oily residu. And it smells nice. And the bottle will last forever and the price is really friendly.  Combined with the 2nd cleansers I already mentioned above, it gives me a perfectly cleansed, balanced skin.

Before Kose oil, I had Hanyul Pure Artemisia cleansing oil. I wrote about it in my last empties post.  It is a great oil, that I highly recommend also.

In the beginning of my Asian beauty path, I tried also some cleansing balms, but for some reasons it’s not my cup of tea. I tried of course Banila Co and Heimish. They both clean well and thouroughly, but I prefer Banila due to the nice scent.

For the moment, I have few travel size cleansing balms of high end brands (Eve Lom, Emma Hardie) and I will try them and write few words for sure.

How do you cleanse your skin?

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful.

Do not follow my steps: guide for a Kbeauty beginner

Ever since I started to use both Kbeauty and Jbeauty products, I feel like I have a multiple personality disorder. On one hand, I am vibrant person extremely happy with how my skin looks and feels (like it has never looked), and on the other hand,  I am constantly mad at myself for buying so many products, for having 7 toners, 4 emulsions, 5 serums, 40 sheet masks, for opening 20 jars, tubes and bottles and still wanting to open 10 new ones,  for thinking that I must have everything (like Pokemons that children were collecting a decade ago).

As you can see this is not a “normal” guide for Kbeauty beginners you were maybe expecting and which you can find everywhere (what’s a Kbeauty routine, what’s an essence, a toner, how to build up a routine, etc). These are my guidelines how to get the best for your skin from a great Asian beauty world and how to keep your wallet safe and your head clear at the same time.

Before I start sharing my wisdom or even better, before I try preventing you from making my own mistakes, let me tell you where I’m standing at the moment when it comes to Kbeauty. I have a huge stash (all purchased with my own money) which I want to purge now a bit. I’m trying to keep myself on a no-buy regime, however I keep having cosmetic relapses caused by different things. So as you can see, I know what I’m talking about when I say that I’m trying to prevent you from making my own mistakes. Personaly, I have no intent of becoming a famous beauty blogger and earning my life from it. I have a nice and well paid job which I like and this blog is something that is making me happy and relaxed and my thought was  why not sharing my cosmetic experience. If only 1 or 2 persons read this and it helps them, my mission is completed.

When I started to explore the faboulous world of Kbeauty, I felt like I had to try everything and like I needed everything. I didn’t pay attention to what type of skin the product was made for or what skin concern it targeted. If somebody said it was a wonderful product, it was enough for me to wish for it and most of times to buy it!! Don’t let yourself be overwhelmed!! Trust me, this world of innovative products, strange ingredients, interesting packagings and shapes and sometimes funny translated names, can be pretty overwhelming.

Try to stay reasonable and wise! Choose your products carefully, investigate a little bit before you hit the buy button. Google the product, take advantage of the fact that everything can be found online, read more than 1 product review and choose the ones that were written by somebody similar to you (in age, skin type, skin concerns, …).

Do not buy a product each time there is a hype going on message boards, Instagram or elsewhere. You do not need an anti-wrinkle serum if you’re in your 20’s (unless you look like a picture of Dorian Gray 😁). There is no product that can satisfy everybody. And, I have to say that sometimes I feel like some people try to hype the product only for keep hypeing alive (if you understand what I want to say). Also I keep noticing that more and more people are creating hype around the products that they have being using for only couple of days. You should know that this should be called  first impressions.

I can bet that on every message board, Reddit topic about Kbeauty or similar, there is at least one person who thinks that she knows (everything) the best, not only for her, but for everybody else. If she doesn’t like a product, nobody will, if her skin reacts to a certain ingredient, it is useless, if she doesn’t like or respect the brand, neither have to the others, if the product is working for her, so it will for everybody else. Of course, you can hear what those people have to say, but keep in mind that your experience might be quitte the opposite (going both ways).

Take the adventage which Kbeauty has and western beauty usually doesn’t and it is called the samples. Whenever you can buy the samples, do it. Do not buy the full size product if you can try the samples first. Sometimes sample prices are bit higher, but buying the samples can save you a lot of money that could be waisted on a full size products, that don’t work well for you. Also, sample size products give you the opportunity to try high end products that you cannot maybe afford.

If you find a perfect product, you should stick to it. I know that the huge choice of products which you find once you open the door to Kbeauty, can be very intriguing, overwhelming, challenging and it can make you want to try all, but if you find that perfect product, just keep on using it. Finding another perfect product will probably cost you some time, nerves and money. Trust me: grass isn’t always greener on the other side of the fence.

Till next time stay healthy and beautiful!

Empties 2

Hello everybody!

Although I promissed myself that I would be much more present on my blog, it’s been again a month now since I posted something.

I have already said that my favourite posts are the ones about the emptied products, so it was so logical that my first post ever was about my empties.

Since this first Empties post, I was pilling my beauty trash during few months and my cosmetic garbage bin is now full to the top and even over the top, so it’s time for my new empties post. I think I even have enough material for two posts. I will decide this during the process of writing, but I’m sure that this post could be marked as longreads if I write about every single product I emptied during past months.

As you will see, I do not have a lot of make up in my beauty trash, since I do not use a lot (bb cream, eye liner, mascara, lipstick and sometimes eye shadow). Also, I do not have lots of hair products since I go twice a week at the hairdresser who takes care of my hair (I obviously have some special discount as a frequent service user).

SKINCARE

SU:M37 Miracle rose cleansing stick – This is an excellent 2nd cleanser, gentle and not drying at all, very effective in removing the residues of 1st cleanser and everything else. It lasts long, it is very travel friendly due to the packaging form. And unfortunately lately it’s almost impossible to find it on Ebay and online shops. I sincerely hope it is not discontinued!!

Hanyul Pure Artemisia cleansing oil – Excellent cleansing oil, mild, yet effective in removing dirt and make up. You only need a small amount to wash your face. It is not thick as some oils, it turns into a nice emulsion quickly.  It doesn’t leave a sticky residue, it is easily washed off and it smells nice. Although it is on the pricey side, I will definetely buy again since it lasts for a long time.

Labiotte Code derm Capsule cleansing water Adoucir – Nice cleansing water. It does what it is supposed to do and that’s removing make up and dirt. It is mild, effective, it doesn’t dry the skin. What I liked about this cleansing water is its nice rose packaging and the way it dispenses the product: you put the cotton pad on the bottle and you pump the product out. I’m not a big fan of cleansing / micellar waters, but I always have one in my bathroom for quick removal of make up when I’m lasy for double cleansing. I cannot say if I will repurchase this or not.

Farm Stay Visible difference snail toner – this is a very nice toner. It has a gel-like texture which is absorbed quickly. Although it contains a snail mucin, it’s not sticky or slimy  at all. It is really refreshing and moisturizing. I use it usually as a 3rd toner in my routine. I will repurchase for sure.

Meishoku fragrance free astringent 170ml sensitive skin ceramide – I have a real love & hate relationship with this toner. This is my second bottle and it usually lasts a year. Before I finished this bottle, I started to feel like my skin will hate it again. It means that it is becoming more and more difficult for my skin to absorb it. And when this happens, it stops the nice absorption of everything I put on top of it. I interprete this as if my skin got enough ceramides for a certain period of time. However, when we are in love phase, it is a perfect 1st step in my routine which really strenghtens my skin, nourishes it and keeps my skin barrier well and protected. I will repurchase for sure in spite of bad phases.

Whamisa deep rich toner – At first, I couldn’t pass by the strong herbal scent which was bothering me and was preventing me to see how great this toner is!! Closer I was to the bottom of the bottle, more I liked it. So moisturizing and nourishing at the same time, it’s a real treat for the skin. I will definitely buy again.

Pyunkang Yul mist toner – I’m pretty sure that you will see this toner in lots of my posts since this is one of my 2 favourite hydrating toners. Perfect hydration, always excellent choise for use after HA toners, mild, absorbed fast and without any sticky residu. I will always have a backup bottle (for the moment I have 2).

Hada labo gokujyun hyaluronic acid lotion – this is definetely my HG product which makes a big difference for my skin. It is absored fastly without a sticky residue, it has a beautiful plumping effect, it feeds my skin with enough moisture leaving it soft and with healthy glow. Out of precaution, I always put a moisturizing toner after it. Just out of curiosity, I will try now a serum with betaglucan (from Iunik). Apparently it has better moisturizing effect than HA. I will let you know.

It’s skin Power 10 formula Q10 serum – another one of the cheap, yet great serums from Power 10 ampoule series. It plumps the skin, nourishes it nicely and I think that, in conjunction with another great serum from this line, Syn-ake version, it helped tone down a bit a big wrinkle on my forehead which is there since I was 12.

Klairs Freshly juiced vitamin C drops – I love this vitamin C serum!! I used it during summer in my morning routine and it really made a big difference to my skin. It brightened visibly my complexion and made it very even and smooth. It helped for some acne on my chin to heal faster. I used it in the serum step, before my bb cream. I’m in love with this serum and will repurchase it!!

Klairs Midnight blue youth activating drop – this is nice peptide serum. The name itself is rather attractive: Youth activating drop and it makes you wanna buy it immediately. We all know that the fountain of youth doesn’t exist, but this little bottle helps you keep it at least for a little longer. This is the most runny/watery serum I have ever tried which makes it very difficult to handle. I put all serums with the dropper directly to the face and then massage it, but the texture of this serum makes it almost impossible to put directly on the skin unless you want to spill it. I wasted few ml of the 20ml in the bottle before I decided to poor it in my palm and then to massage it. When applied, it is almost immediately completely absorbed. My face feels and looks firmer and brighter. It evens the skin and make it supple. Although it is serum, it is recommended to use it as a first step of the routine, so the peptides inside come immediately on the skin. Although with its 20ml only, it comes on a pricey side, I will repurchase it for sure, since I really like this serum.

Tosowoong Timeshift  First Essence AP Therapy – this is one of my two favourite first essences (the other one is From Nature FTE). It makes my skin a perfect canvas for absorption of other products; my skin is soft, smooth amd hydrated. I just love it!! For a moment, I do not have either one of those two. However, when I reduce my current stash, I will repurchase for sure.

Huxley Secrets of Sahara oil essence – this product was my big discovery and big hit of this summer. At first, I used it in my morning and my night routine: in the morning before my bb cream and in the night as a last step or followed by light sleeping pack. Then I replaced it in my morning routine with Klairs vitamin c drops. Although it is declared as an essence, it is a perfect serum which gives the skin a perfect moisture, glow and healthy shine and at the same time, it keeps it under control during the summer in a way that prevents the skin of becoming oily. I was waking up every morning with perfect shinny skin and with no trace of oil at all (which sometimes happens to me during summer). It has a beautifull scent which doesn’t linger for a longtime. Will repurchase!!

Kao Biore spf50 spray – I was carrying it around since I walk a lot outside during the summer due to the nature of my job. It is excellent for renewing the sun protection and it can be used on top of make up. However, I ran out of it rather quickly, so I’m still not sure if I will repurchase or not since it is a bit on a pricey side.

Shangpree Marine energy eye patches – I had this for a longtime on my WL because of great reviews it had and I simply had to try it. This is not a bad product, au contraire… these are nice eye patches that brighten and refresh the eye area. However, you can get same results with cheaper eye patches (for exemple I found equally good or even better, but much cheaper eye patches like Berissom placenta, Petitfee gold snail). I have already bought 2 new types of eye patches. I like to try different products so I won’t probably repurchase again.

Berrisom placenta eye patches – As I mentioned above, I got really nice results with these eye patches who brightened and refreshed my undereye area. Of course, the results are always temporary and I do not expect that the eye patches will improve drastically the situation. However, I always have a box or two of eye patches and I love to use them few times per week.

Mizon Black snail All in one cream – This is one of the legendary K-beauty products. I love it and I repurchased it few times. I really love how it sinks nicely in the skin leaving it soft and silky and at the same time, it keeps the sebum balanced and under control. I used this jar at the beggining of the summer and didn’t repurchase since, but I will for sure. The only downside of this product is his packaging (jar) as I do not like to dip my fingers into the product. However, I found the solution for this and bought some spatulas which I use for products that do not come with one.

Enature Birch juice hydro sleeping pack – this is one of my summer favourites and I have already written about it. It is really a juicy product as its name says. It is really moisturizing and refreshing and I used it this summer both as a moisturizer and a sleeping pack. I still have one small jar to use and then I will test Manyo Factory sleeping pack. However, this Enature’s sleeping pack is really nice product and I will repurchase a full size product.

Cremorlab Fresh water gel – I was using these tubes while I was away from home since they were in my travel bag. So, I wasn’t using it on a regular basis, but only from time to time. What I can say about it, that is really a nice moisturizer and I would eventually like to buy a full size product.

MAKE UP

Klorane Lotion Florale demaquillante make up remover – for a long time this was my favorite eye make up remover. I used to buy it on Cocooncenter.fr since it was sold in 2-pack and the size of bottle is 200ml (unlike all others make up removers which usually come in small 30 ml bottles). This was really an excellent deal. And an excellent product!! It is gentle, yet effective. I only use 2-3 cotton pads to remove my eye make up, and this without rubbing my eyes. I just put a cotton pad soaked with this liquid on my eyes and keep it for a while. It removes well the mascara, eye liner, eye primer. You should keep in mind that I do not use waterproof mascara or lot of eye shadows. Will repurchase this eventually.

Beautybay lip and eye primer – I had it for such a long time. At first I bought it for my lips and later I was only using it under my eye liner. It was equally good for lips and eyes, although I used it on my lips only few times. It definetely made my red lipstick more vibrant and made it last longer than it usually does. On my eyes, it was also really effective since it kept my eye liner under control: there was no colour fading, no smudging. It is really a decent eye primer, not expensive at all. I tried to buy it again on Beautybay, but I couldn’t find it and I’m afraid that it is discontinued. Otherwise, I would buy it again for sure.

Missha Perfect cover bb cream in shade #27 – this is my HG bb cream that I have been using last few years and I always have a backup tube. My shade 27 is sometimes rather difficult to purchase and that’s why I always buy 2 pcs at a time. This is perfect bb cream for my needs in terms of coverage and finish. It took me a while to find a perfect shade for my skin, but once I found it, I will never be without it! Oh yes, I will repurchase!!

Kiko Fall 2.0 mascara – I loved this mascara which really enhanced my lashes in volume and colour (I have long lashes which need a bit of volume and density). Being LE product, I do not find it amymore online (there are no Kiko stores in my country).

BATH AND BODY CARE

I always say the bath and body care products are really subject to a personal preferences, especially when talking about the scents. For exemple, I am not big fan of floral or fruity scents, but I like powdery, argan, almond oil like scents.  I will not write about each one of the shower gels above. I will just say that one of my favourites shower gels and favourite The Body Shop scents is Wild argan oil. I tried body butter, shower gel, body scrub, hand lotion and I adore it. I’m a bit affraid that it is also LE since it is difficult to find it from time to time.

And just to mention that the first black bottle is Afrodita Cosmetics Cotton flower Cream shower gel. Afrodita Cosmetics is Slovenian brand which has a skincare range and the bodycare range. I love the bodycare range, especially some shower gels that smell just great, but at the same time provide excellent care.

During quite a while, I was only using the roll-on deodorants. However, lately I’m using again some sprey deodorants and still exploring which one is the best.

As you can see, I have one anti-cellulite gel in empties. This is not my first bottle of Elyncyl Slim Design that I used up. I was using it last summer also and repurchased 2 bottles this spring. Obviously it did something for me since it is repurchased item. I know that it does not make a cellulite disappear. However, it smoothes the skin surface making it look firmer.

I used up also some sheet masks, some products in samples pouches or travel size, but I think this is quite enough for this empties post.

Till next time, stay healthy and beautiful!

What did I buy lately?

Hello everybody!

It’s been a while now since I posted something on my little blog. I work a lot during summer, and I do not have much time for anything else. But now, when the winter is approching I will have time for fun, including my blog.

I was trying to keep myself on a cosmetic shopping diet since I really hoarded quite a lot lately and my beauty stash is really huge. However, from time to time, I treated myself with something I had on my wishlist for a longtime, sometimes  after a hard day at work, I bought something just to reward myself and sometimes I simply could not resist to a discount code or a special price.

So below you can see some results of the actions I undertook lately 😁

Peter Thomas Roth set of 6 different mask – this is a great set to try these rather expensive masks which have a HG status for many women.

May Coop Raw sauce – when I saw that it was on a promotion at Jolse.com, I couldn’t resist to buy since I had it for such a longtime on my WL.

Manyo Overnight miracle sleeping pack – if the reviews are true, this will be a miracle product. Sleeping packs are probably the only category of Kbeauty products that I didn’t explore enough. I’m really looking forward to try this.

Pyunkang yul mist toner – one of my favourite hydrating toners. I always buy it on Iherb when they offer a discount on Kbeauty items. This time I bought two bottles.

Blithe Patting water pack Energy yellow citrus & honey – usually the splash masks from Blithe are quite expensive. I bought this one for only 12 USD since it was discounted due to the expiry date in March 2019. I will have to open it and use it quickly, so I will see soon if it is really worth that retail price it usually has.

Saem aloe vera gel 99% – during the summer, I always like to have an aloe vera gel in case of sunburns, insect bites or stings, etc. I purchase this Saem aloe when  Iherb had a discount on all aloe range.

Melano CC serum – my skin adores the serums with C vitamin and I have been reading only excellent reviews about this Japanese serum. The one from Klairs that I have been using this summer, really made a difference for my skin, so I really have some high hopes from this one.

Kose Softymo cleansing oil – This is replacement for my Hanyul Pure Artemisia cleansing oil which was excellent.

Olivarrier dual moist toning lotion – This was also a part of my WL for a long time. Since it advertises 5.5 ph, this should be a replacement for my Acwell licorice toner that I simply adore, but that is rather difficult or almost impossible to find lately.

A by bom Ultra water leef sheet mask – basically I bought this since I thought that it had an interesting shape as “sister” from same brand that I had longtime on my WL and which I mentioned when I wrote about my Ebay wish list. I think I made a little mistake about the shape. However, maybe I will like the mask itself.

Morphe 35F Fall into frost palette and Morphe brushes – Beautybay will no longer sell Morphe, so they had 50% on everything in order to sell out the stocks. I couldn’t resist and bought this palette and some brushes. I read that Morphe eye shadows are great, so I look forward to try them.

Milani eye primer – I bought this only because of price. I do not put a lot of eye make up, so I do not have high expectations. I would only like that my eye liner survives throughout the working day without making me look like a panda.

Eyenlip gold snail eye patches – since I will run out of my Shangpree Marine eye patches soon, I had to buy new ones. Up till now I think I didn’t repurchase any of the patches I tried so far, although I really liked some of them (Berrisom placenta, Petitfee gold snail). My advice to you is that you don’t have to pay a lot of money for this kind of product.

I used a promo price on Beautynetkorea to buy another eye patches from Eyenlip: Salmon oil nutrition eye patches (with salmon oil and 8 kinds of peptides). The packaging really looks like it is a luxury product. We will see if the effect will match the look.

Mad Hippie C vitamin serum – this is 2nd vitamin C serum that I bought lately. Up till last year, this was a regular part of my routine and I just loved it. Although it was my HG serum, I replaced it with Kbeauty serums. Big discount on Iherb was an opportunity to remind myself how I loved this serum.

And last, some essential oils from Oshadi: tea tree and eucalyptus. I akways have a bottle of tea tree oil in case some pimple appears or to prevent the toenail fungus or just for adding in the water while cleaning my bathroom.

So, did you treat yourselves with something lately? What did you buy?

I hope that I will not be absent from my blog again for 2 months like this time.

Till then, stay healthy and beautiful!

Everybody has summer favourites. So do I!

Hello everybody!

Ever since I started to use the Kbeauty products in 2014, I was always struggling to find a perfect summer routine, because the combinations I used to put, tended to be either too heavy, or too weak. It can be pretty challenging to find a perfect combination of products to keep the skin well hydrated, but also able to keep put the makeup (bb cream) during the hot summer days.

Last summer I found the perfect combination in Son & Park beauty water, Muji Mujirushi high moisture toner (few layers of it), Mizon black snail cream for the morning routine. For the night routine, it was pretty same with the addition of Kohaku hada HA lotion (orange version) and lots of sheet masks. It worked wonders for me.

However, since I hoarded lots of products during this winter / spring and since I emptied all the products mentionned above (the exception is Muji Mujirushi toner which I repurchased), I was looking again for the new perfect combination. So here are the products I reach for every day this summer:

Tosowoong Time shift first essence – I will soon finish this wonder bottle. I can say that this one of my favourite summer products but also one of my favourite Kbeauty products ever. This picture below prouves how much I like this FTE. The bottle is empty! And the new one is on the way.

Hadalabo Gokujyun premium HA lotion

This is perfect HA lotion for my needs. It makes my skin plump, soft and well hydrated. I need only 1-2 drops for my whole face. To prevent that the skin dries (which can happen with HA), I reach for my two next summer favourites.

Muji Mujirushi Light toning water – High moisture – just like last summer, I put a layer or two of this toner every morning and evening. It’s a perfect hydrating toner which is more viscous than water. It can be sticky for a few second upon I apply it, but it sinks in very fast and in such a nice way. This is one of my favourite hydrating toners.

Next product I reach for is Farm stay Snail Visible difference moisture toner.

It’s gel-like hydrating toner which I always layer on some other hydrating toner. Although it is a snail toner, it’s not sticky or slimy at all. It sinks in perfectly and it is really refreshing. It’s a perfect summer toner and perfect choice for the people who like snail mucin in their routine.

Enature Birch juice hydro sleeping pack

This product replaces a moisturizer in my routine. It’s light, hydrating sleeping pack which locks nicely all the layers previously put, leaving the skin soft and hydrated. In the morning I find myself with glowy skin, but not greasy in any way. This birch juice sleeping mask is really juicy. I had 2 travel size containers and I will surely buy a full size.

And my last summer buddy is Huxley Secrets of Sahara oil essence.

I had this bottle in my stash for a while now, so I almost forgot about it. And the decision to open it now, is showing to be wise. This gel like essence like oil is not oily at all (despite what the name says), it’s a nice gel which sinks in fast, smells perfectly (to me), refreshes and hydrates the skin and leaves it in a perfect balance without making it oily. And it works great under my Missha bb cream.

How do you pamper your skin during the summer?

Till next post, stay healthy and beautiful!

My favourite sheet masks

Hello everybody!

I hope you’re all well.

In my last post, I wrote a little bit about my experience with sheet masks, how I keep track of what I have and what I tried so far.

Today I would like to share with you my top 5 sheet masks. I really tried a lot of sheet masks, for different purposes, made of variuos materials and made for various budgets. As you will see, I have on my list both cheap ones and more expensive ones. The order is random, because I honestly cannot choose which one of those 5 I like the best!! I love them all and buy them all the time.

Illi Total aging Ginseng firming hydrogel mask

Oh how I like this one! I still remember the first time I opened this sheet mask! The smell was absolutely divine. Till today I do not know if this scent is how ginseng is supposed to smell, but it’s divine as I said. It’s hydrogel two-piece mask which is rather easy to handle. The openings for eyes and mouth fit me perfectly. However, this mask has some strange cut on chin, or basicaly the chin stays uncovered no matter how you place it on. Otherwise it fits perfectly. Since this is a hydrogel sheet mask, there is no leaking of liquid, but at the same time you can keep the mask for a longer time without fearing that it will dry the skin (which can sometimes happen with cotton sheet masks if you keep them too long). The skin feels great upon removing this sheet mask. It’s really hydrating, but yet it leaves the skin firm and tight, but in a good way. I spent already a pack of 5 pcs and few days ago I received new ones. I will keep on buying it as long as it will be on the market.

Papa Recipe Bombee Whitening Honey

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet.

Every time I think about this mask, it makes me smile. First, I just love the smell of this mask!! When you put it on your face, it smells like heaven. And this was huge surprise for me, since I do not like honey or anything related to honey. But when it comes to cosmetics, my skin adores both honey and propolis. The fit of this mask is good. It is well soaked, but it doesn’t leak. I always use the remaining liquid to treat my body also and not only my face. The material is thin, comfortable. The skin is amazing after you remove the mask: well hydrated, plump, soft, balanced and with evened color and texture. I already used a pack of 10 pcs. New ones came in few days ago.

My Scheming Mandelic acid Brightening

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet.

This is very cheap, yet extremely effective sheet mask which delivers exactly what its name says: brightening.  When it comes to the products which have the word brightening in the name, I’m always wondering if they do anything. This notion brightening can be pretty confusing. But in case of the sheet mask, it’s pretty clear what it means and what it does. Upon removing the mask, the before and after is really different and visible. The skin is so much brighter and skin tone is even from forehead to chin.  It makes the skin so soft and perfectly smooth. And what’s even better, the result is also visible the morning after!! The material is very soft, almost completely transparent, feels great on the skin. Of course, I will repurchase!

Hanyul Pure Artemisia fresh calming

Hanyul is the brand that I am discovering recently. I have the cleansing oil from this same line and it is perfect. I can tell the same for this sheet mask. It is really well soaked and still it is not leaking. There was not a lot of essence remaining in the package. The mask itself is rather big, especially on the chin (it covers whole chin, while some others bearly cover it). This sheet mask feels great on the skin, calms it, I would say that it even has some kind of cooling effect. It evens the complexion in a very nice way.

Lovemore Mung beans and licorice

The picture is not mine; it was taken from the internet

When I first put this sheet masks, I was kind of disappointed with its shape. It was huge, the biggest sheet mask I’ve ever used. The openings were not well cut, the ones for eyes were too close and the one for the mouth was too small. However, the issues with the shape were forgotten fast since the effect is just amazing. It is very hydrating, moisturizing, it perfectly softens the skin. The skin is looking kind of brighter, I noticed both whitening and brightening effect. And what’s even more amazing, the effect was visible the morning after too!! Excellent and very cheap mask. What do you think if I have it in my stash? 😁

And here are also some honorable mentions:

Aprilskin honey and red ginseng

Erborian ginseng shot

Polatam Hydro radiance

Cremorlab Herb tea pure calming

My Beauty Diary Kenting Algae Elastin moisturizing

Goodal waterest moisture HA

Do you like sheet masks? What are your favourites?

Till next post, stay healthy and beautiful!

Sheet masks: do you enjoy using or it’s annoying you?

Hello everybody!

It’s been a while now since I wrote something.

Today I thought of sharing with you my thoughts (😁)  about the sheet masks. One of the first things I bought when I started exploring the Kbeauty was a sheet mask. Of course that buying one of the staple products of Asian cosmetics was the logic choice. I have to admit that the first sheet masks I bought were a complete miss. I bought 2 types of Tonymoly I’m real (tomato and aloe versions) and they did pretty nothing to my skin, except that the one with tomato made my face red (logically). I think I still have 1 or even 2 of these in my sheet mask stash.

Since that time, I bought and tried a lot of sheet masks and I really enjoy exploring and using them. During the summer, I spend lot of time outside under the harsh sun due to my job requirements, so sometimes my skin gets burned and it is irritated and red. And in these situations, my skin is always saved by sheet masks. I talked to lot of girls about the use of sheet masks and I found that lot of them thought the sheet mask were annoying!! Some of them do not like that moist feeling on the skin, some of them do not feel confortable wearing sheet masks and think they are suffocating and some of them do not simply have enough patience to keep the sheet mask for 20-30 minutes.

My feelings are quite opposite!! I simply adore sheet masks and I think that they are one of the best parts of asian beauty routine (together with toners/skins). And the variety of types which is given, offers a solution for any skin concern and for any budget.

For the moment, I have more than 30 pcs on stock and I’m waiting for at least 10 more to be delivered. In order to know what I have at my disposal, I have a xls spreadsheet with stock and some features (I borrowed this system from Fiddy from Fifty shades of  snail). At the begining, I tried a lot of different sheet mask and at one moment, I realized that I do not remember what I thought of some masks. I made a system for myself with small review of each mask I tried and this with the help of the application Evernote. These reviews are not very detailed like the ones professional beauty bloggers do. They help me remember what I tried and what was my opinion about each sheet mask. This is how my Evernote beauty diary looks like.

I have few more pages like this, but this is just to show you how it looks like. Now I know for sure which sheet mask I tried, how soaked it was, what kind of material it was made of and my opinion about it.

Now that I shared with you these rather general things about the sheet masks, I will tell you in my next blog post which are my favourites.

Till then, stay beautiful and healthy!

What do I carry in my travel bag?

Hello everybody! I hope you’re doing fine.

This will be rather short post, since I got the inspiration few days ago, while I was on my business trip with the overnight in the hotel.

Although it was only 1-day trip, I carried almost everything I usually put in the make up/skincare travel bag for few days.

I always have a stash of The History of  Whoo cleansing foam in pouches, since I really love this cleanser which is mild, yet effective.

Balance me micellar water – I use the micellar water as 2nd cleanser on my trips. I always have some samples or travel size micellar waters, so it’s not necessarily this brand that finds a place in my travel toiletry bag.

SU:M37 Summa losec skin softener – gel-like toner which sinks fast in the skin, leaving it soft and moisturized.p

Cremorlab T.E.N water gel – This is a decent moisturizer. However, since I use it only on my trips and not regularly, I do not have a firm opinion about it. I can tell that it sinks well in the skin and gives nice moisture. It also works well under my Missha bb cream.

Missha Perfect cover bb cream in shade #27 – This bb cream is the only full size product I carry with me for the short travels like this one. I sometimes have the 20ml package, which is very travel friendly.

What do you carry in your travel bag?

Till next time, stay beautiful and healthy!
